After visiting Chatsworth and Lyme Park, I often mused which one was the Inspiration for Pemberley this quote seems to answer:
"Chatsworth has been suggested for Pemberley, because Jane Austen teasingly placed it in the vicinity of Bakewell, but Darcy was no Duke of Devonshire and Chatsworth could not be kept up even on £10,000 a year."
? @ Chatsworth

I can just imagine Mr. and Mrs. Darcy strolling through the Italian Garden at Pemberley, I mean Lyme Park.
