I very nearly selected Moshfegh's idiosyncratic mystery Death in Her Hands, which I continue to think about often since reading it, Other strong D contenders: Don Quixote, Dud Avocado, Don't Look Now, Drowned World. I finally settled on PKD's sequel of sorts to Dr. Strangelove. Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape the novel follows as humans &👇
This is a very strange, but enjoyable book. Dick isn't really interested in plot, or linear storytelling, in his tale of a group of survivors in California after a nuclear war. Time and place jumps around, but the diverse characters makes the book worth reading. 4 💥💥💥💥
