The poetry in this book is rich and delicious. The story itself is a wonderful tale of friendship. I recently learned the title of the track: The Sea is Deep and the World is Wide by Love Fame Tragedy on their album Wherever I Go, I want to Leave was lifted from this book. It‘s a very short ukulele interlude but I played it on repeat while reading this and it just fits so well. 🌊 🐌 🐋 #MarvellousMarch

Another sweet, witty book from the author & illustrator of Room on the Broom! A snail with wanderlust makes a friend & they have adventures. Lovely adjectives & exciting see journey. Complexity of text makes this a good read with 5-7 year olds. #kidlit #oceanjourney #picturebooks

(Letter S) This is a favorite in our house. A snail with “an itchy foot” doesn‘t listen to the other snails and instead seeks out adventure, tagging along with a humpback whale. When something bad happens, the tiny snail proves size doesn‘t have anything to do with being a hero. There are colorful pictures of diverse areas on Earth from tropical islands to icebergs. It‘s a great vocabulary builder for younger children. ❤️#BBRC #A2Z @LibrarianRyan

Wish I could read right now. But can't. The reading #🚦/#trafficlight is red, my kids need to do loads of homework and it's going at a snail's pace.

A snail has an "itchy foot" and wants to travel, and ends up getting a bit more than she bargained for when she hitches a ride on a whale. Love Julia Donaldson's books (and so does Little)!
