5 posts | 13 read | 3 to read
Han Solo and Chewbacca the Wookiee team-up for an all-new adventure in this thrilling upper middle grade novel. Set between Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, the story follows everyone's favorite pair of smugglers as they fly the Millennium Falcon on a top-secret mission for the Rebellion. Hidden in the story are also hints and clues about the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, making this a must-read for fans old and new!

I listened to the audiobook verison while at work and really enjoyed it. The Star Wars audiobooks are always a treat to listen to since they have added effects and music, even if the story is a little weak.

This was a good quick read but definitely not my favorite Star Wars story. I liked the bitsbwith Chewie a lot. It filled out Han's character a tiny bit. I would probably only suggest this one if you really want to consume every bit of Star Wars possible. I would definitely recommend some of the old EU Han Solo stories over this one.

LazyOwl I love seeing all your star wars book reviews. You would get along with my husband, he has probably read almost all the star wars books, he started reading them when he was a kid. He is a huge star wars fan 7y
annkuch13 @LazyOwl Aww thanks! He's probably read more of the old EU than I have, but I'm trying to catch up with all the backlist. I inherited most of the old books from my older brother. 😁 7y
awishman For a middle grade book, I thought this was good. I like how Rucka's writing is strong and he doesn't talk down to the audience. 7y

annkuch13 @awishman yeah I definitely appreciate that! I think since I read this right after Guardians of the Whills I judged it a little harder. 7y
awishman @annkuch13 That makes sense. GotW was really good. And being published after the movie could tell more of a story than SR. 7y
HatefulGrablin Have you read any more of the middle grade books? I've been wondering if I should pick some of them up. 7y
annkuch13 @HatefulGrablin Yeah! The Luke one is great and Guardians of the Whills is amazing. @awishman is the expert on SW middlegrade, though. 7y
awishman @annkuch13 @HatefulGrablin Thanks! Have read all of them, but Weapon of a Jedi and Servants of the Empire series (all by Jason Fry) are very good. I also liked the retellings of ANH and ROTJ by Alexandra Bracken and Tom Angleberger. 7y
awishman @annkuch13 @HatefulGrablin Should have said have NOT read all of them. Ahsoka also reads more like a middle grade than YA IMHO. 7y
HatefulGrablin @awishman @annkuch13 Thank you! I'll check those out. 7y

Star Wars is always a good choice. Nice little story about Han and Chewie that fills in for people who want to know more about what happened during the rebellion. I read the Leia book last year and liked it too. On to the Luke one next!

Star Wars is a HUGE part of my life and after the release of the new movie Star Wars VII The Force Awakens I have had a deep hole in my heart with the loss of Han Solo. This book is a great way to enjoy some classic Action from our favorite duo! And it's part of the journey to the force awakens series so if you enjoyed this there are several others featuring characters like Luke and Leia as well! #StarWars #nerd #fanboy #geek

Cute little novella about Han and Chewie. Not amazing but worth a pick up!
