Pickpick

🎧 I was in the mood for a creepy haunted house book! This scratched that itch! I liked the playful loving banter between Adam & Ella.

After young Henry‘s twin dies Adam gets the deal of a lifetime. He moves his son Henry & wife Ella to a supposedly haunted house to write his book. The family is still recovering from the recent loss.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👇🏻

Twainy Everyone in town is interested in what happened to the previous family who lived in the house as they disappeared without warning & some will do anything to be invited in to ghost hunt or not.

There are a number of side characters that help move the story along & an underlying question that permeates the book … is Henry …..

I was on the edge of my seat for last part of the book.

This was not my favourite book. I couldn‘t connect with the characters and found the plot unengaging. I made it to the end of the book, because I NEVER bail (every book deserves to be read from cover-to-cover) but was really glad when I got to the last page. For me this book is a big “No.”

Lindy Every book deserves to be read… but not necessarily by you. 😉 3y
Come-read-with-me @Lindy That is so true!! Wish that advice had come my way by about page 30! 🤓 3y

Buechersuechtling Seconding what @Lindy says. But: I find it really impressive that you don‘t bail. I do, even if I often feel a little bit guilty about it, on the one hand. On the other hand, there are so many books out there, and many of them hopefully containing of stories I like, that I keep telling myself that I find life being too short to spend it with books I can‘t connect with. 3y
Come-read-with-me @Buechersuechtling I seriously needed both you and @Lindy by about page 30! I agree that there are so many books out there that I will enjoy reading, but I have such a hard time giving up on a book. I‘ve never bailed on anything so maybe it‘s just become a little bit of my stubborn nature to want to keep going! But your words of advisement will be held very close to my heart the next time I get close to bailing! 3y
Come-read-with-me @Buechersuechtling Btw... I like your new picture- it looks cosy! 3y
Buechersuechtling @Come-read-with-me Thank you for your nice words about my new profile picture m. A friend of mine spotted it I-don‘t-know where, forwarding it to me texting: “Look! I found your new profile picture.” – Me: “Aaaaaawwwww! 😍” – Him: “I _knew_ this would be something for you. 😃” 3y
