WOWOWOWOW Just finished listening to this, and it was SO GOOD! Y‘all. Go read this right now. (If you want.) The author does such a good job of writing REAL teen characters (who are smart, passionate, and diverse), writing REAL friendships (that start and change and end and mend and everything else), and beautifully addressing family and loyalty and the images we all have of each other in our head. Please read this so I can talk to you about it!

LiteraryinLawrence This is on my list of books to read in August! It's waiting on my shelf... maybe I'll start it next... 4y

A YA about friendship and growing up.
It could have been better and it could have been shorter.
I didn‘t love the characters they felt incomplete and with no depth.
It‘s ok but honestly it wouldn‘t be the first book I recommend.

This is a story of how a friendship breaks up, and I agree with Gayle Foreman that a friendship breaking up can be worse than a romantic relationship ending. With our best friends, we pour our hearts out, empty our secrets to them, and we know all the parts about one another.

This is the story of what happens when one friend begins to move on, and how the other friend tries to hold on before breaking things. Felt very true and honest.

LiteraryinLawrence This is on my shelf since I was gifted it in April. Your review makes me want to get to it soon! ☺️ 4y

Best friend breakups are just as hard as romantic breakups, sometimes even harder.

When You Were Everything by Ashley Woodfork brought me back to my high school days. It brought out all the feels that those days gave me. When Cleo starts realizing that she might be losing her best friend she begins having a hard time dealing with life. Not only is she losing her best friend but her parents are also separating.

BookNightOwl This books deals with alternating dates "Then" and "Now" Then talks about how her friendship ended and Now deals with the present day Cleo. I also enjoyed the diversity in this book and a great story line. 4y

My #FebruaryWrapUp (sorry it's late!): a lot of fun and interesting books. The YAs were my faves - a lot of fun and interesting stories. I'm terribly behind on reviews, but they will come!

This book hit me in the heart. Like most, I've had experiences of feeling like I'm growing apart from someone I care about. It's an incredibly vulnerable feeling, and I love how the author focuses on that. At the same time, Cleo ends up meeting new people & making new friends in her new social position. It's wonderful how Woodfolk shows how new opportunities can arise out of challenges & heartbreak.
It's out on 3/10/20 & I totally recommend it!
