A chilling psychological thriller that explores the menacing evil behind the glittering facades of Manhattans skyscrapers Kay Norris, a successful and lovely book editor, moves into the posh Carnegie Hall district of Manhattan, into an apartment in a slender high-rise. A man watches her. He watches her unpack, watches her make her bed. He owns the building: a shocking secret is concealed within its brick and concrete. Sliver is a sinuous erotic thriller, a hypnotic story of obsession, suspense, and stunning surprises. It is a novel about the ultimate power, and the temptations the use of that power brings.

#EveryBreathYouTake I know I‘m not the only one who thinks this song is creepy. Even Sting has admitted it in interviews! 😂😅 #VolumesAndVocals @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

IndoorDame If you haven‘t read the Ira Levin novel or seen the Sharon Stone adaptation major CW for ick, and for the fact that that that guy was eerily prescient about the power of technology to spy on people decades before the technology properly existed. But I did see/read them WAY too young cause they were laying around my house so I may be biased… 10mo

Not as good as Rosemary‘s Baby or The Stepford Wives, but not a bad read either. It‘s a little slow in the beginning but it does get interesting. There was also a lot of differences between the film adaptation and the book so this ended up being less predictable for me, which was a nice surprise since I had expected it to be more like the film. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cathythoughts I havnt heard of this one , stacking. A Kiss Before Dying is my fave. 👍🏻 (edited) 4y

I thought Rosemary‘s Baby was great, so I was looking forward to this book. Unfortunately, it didn‘t live up to my expectations. The quality of the writing didn‘t seem as good as the previous book.

The concept of invasion of privacy is interesting, but not as shocking as it was when this book was first published. Kay, the heroine, makes a lot of questionable decisions. It becomes hard to feel sorry for her since she sets herself up for trouble.

KathyWheeler I agree about The Boys from Brazil, but Son of Rosemary ranks among the worst books I‘ve ever read. One of my favorite books of his, however, is 5y
ReadingOver50 @Kathywheeler @vivastory I haven‘t read either of these but they sound interesting 5y

I want to read something different and out of my comfort zone.. So I'll try this Ira Levin's novel!
I don't know anything about this book, I just picked one of the weirdest cover in my father's collection.. The face is creepy, but the little falling man is kind of funny 😅
This cover is sooo '90!! #vintage

Mehso-so

Definitely not the best Ira Levin book I've read. Kind of confusing. Not sure if the bad guy is really a bad guy. Finally started enjoying it maybe halfway through and it's less than 200 pages. Meh all around.
