Broken Eye
Broken Eye | Brent Weeks
"New York Times" bestseller"""The Broken Eye" continues the spectacular Lightbringer series from the "New York Times "bestselling author of "The Black Prism" and "The Blinding Knife." As the old gods awaken and satrapies splinter, the Chromeria races to find the only man who can still end a civil war before it engulfs the known world. But Gavin Guile has been captured by an old enemy and enslaved on a pirate galley. Worse still, Gavin has lost more than his powers as Prism--he can't use magic at all. Without the protection of his father, Kip Guile will face a master of shadows as his grandfather moves to choose a new Prism and put himself in power. With Teia and Karris, Kip will have to use all his wits to survive a secret war between noble houses, religious factions, rebels, and an ascendant order of hidden assassins called The Broken Eye. Finished this big boy today! After not truly loving the second book I decided to hope back into this interesting world after some time away. Weeks was back on his game for this one, characters are all doing interesting things and are in interesting places by books end. I am excited to read the next now after a Skyward reread. #brentweeks #lightbringer #epicfantasy

I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 70

This world has only two kinds of people: villains and smiling villains.

Everyone treating Teia like crap is getting really old. The whole slavery storyline is already a little exhausting and gross. It‘s even worse when Teia gets slapped around by everyone because she‘s a slave. It‘s just frustrating that her status never really changes.

Happy Map Monday Lovelies! Do you like having maps in books? I personally do. I like being able to flip back and fourth and get a better picture of where the characters are and/or going. This map is from The Broken Eye (Lightbringer #3) by Brent Weeks. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Brent Weeks never ceases to amaze me with his characters and plot twists. His magic system is unlike any I have read before. The Color Prince's war continues to rage in this novel and things only grow more dire as Andross Guile continues to manipulate people for his own gain. Kip, Gavin, Teia and Karris must each find their own way through the obstacles set before them to save themselves and end the war.

I had the book for weeks and only managed to get 200 pages in. With all of my library extensions used up, I finally dove in and I'm so glad I did! This story has so many twists and turns. I love the surprises and the way the characters keep evolving. I love/hate so many of them that I just have to keep reading. Book 4 is out at the end of the month. I will definitely be reading it without delay.

OceanCityMama Love/hate, huh? I'm going to have to get back to finish this series out. 7y

I absolutely love this series! I started reading it last week and now I have to wait for the fourth installment to come later this month. At least my sleep deprived body is happy about that one. =)

This baby fell to the bottom of my bedside TBR stack. I just realized that it's due back at the library on Friday. Time to dig in!

This is a great continuation of the series, weaving the already twisted story even deeper. It adds to the characters and thickens the plot while not leaving readers behind.
