3. The Living Great Lakes, by Jerry Dennis. Nonfiction that reads like fiction. I‘ve given it as a gift and lent it so many times! In fact, I need a new copy!

A perfect combination of adventure memoir, nature treatise, plea for respect toward our environment, and love letter to the Great Lakes, this was an adventure unlike anything I‘ve read since “The Songlines.” If you love the Great Lakes, this is the perfect addition to your library.
This has been on my TBR for literal years. I am 100% in love with the Great Lakes, and so thankful to be a #MittenLitten. In September, my husband and I are heading to MI's Bois Blanc Island for an off-grid getaway, and I think this may have to be my read!
