"Some say the past is in the past. That vengeance will hurt both innocent and guilty. I never believed those lies. Once my lust for revenge is sated, I'll say goodbye to hatred. I'll find a new beginning." SIN & SUFFER She came from a past Arthur "Kill" Killian never forgot. She made him sin and made him suffer. She tugged him from the shadows and showed him he wasn't as dead as he thought. And with her resurrection came betrayal, deceit, and war. But then they took her. Stole her. Imprisoned her. Now Kill's carefully laid plans for vengeance are complete. He craves action, retribution-the blood of his enemies. War has begun. War is all they'll know until they've paid their penance. He will get her back-and rewrite their destiny . . .

While I liked this book for the most part, there were still a few things that I didn‘t like about it but mostly I didn‘t find Kill to be very appealing as a romance hero, he was a little too secretive and high handed for me😶

CoverToCoverGirl I liked Kill but he was a bit high handed and very secretive. 6y
theresidentromantic And it collided so wildly. Like he allowed the women into church, but he couldn't say "Babe, we're only staying here until I'm free to launch my career in politics. I want to make the world a better place." Like, why was that hard?! 6y

The second book was definitely better than the first, but I'm still convinced Wallstreet is a backstabbing scumbag. I think that's a hill I'll die on, he was too much like the guy in Jurassic Park. I really didn't appreciate a female m.c. that was a vet, but didn't grasp basic concussion facts. So overall, I'm glad @CoverToCoverGirl suggested I finish the duet, but I think Ms.Winters and I are never getting back together.

CoverToCoverGirl I agree about Wallstreet .. it was like she intended to make him into something and then changed her mind... I didn‘t believe him in the role as a generous benefactor either. 6y

So the second one has definitely been better than the first, though it's built on foundations I'm not really fond of and I think I still don't really like the characters. But I thought this was really, really great. I've read a ton of MC books and a woman has never been invited to church. I thought it was a great gesture @CoverToCoverGirl @Daughter-of-words

CoverToCoverGirl I agree on the church part! We certainly didn‘t see that in the Hades Hangmen series. I‘m glad you find this one better than the first (edited) 6y

Yesterday I dealt with a busy work day, a terrible back ache, and my niece‘s birthday but I‘m starting today☺️ hopefully I can get through a good chunk of this bad boy since I‘m off today🤗 #currentlyreading #bookandbreakfast

CoverToCoverGirl Hopefully a quiet day off and some relaxing reading will distract you from the discomfort of your sore back. 😊 Throughly enjoying it so far on Ch 13 6y
