This SF chapter book written by New York Times Bestselling author, Jon Scieszka, is the first of a bestselling series, and is a great literature option for LC, IR and GR. This book talks about a boy-genius named Frank who is trying to enter a science competition, and builds a robot that not only finishes self-assembling itself, but it also builds another mini robot. Frank goes through many hijinks trying to create his invention,

jvinas2 including having to fight off an evil enemy who tries to steal his ideas and win the competition. Throughout the book, there are references to actual scientists (the villain‘s name is T.Edison), and is not only informative, but also very funny. The illustrations also help bring the book to life, and makes reading about science fun! Because of the vocabulary and scientific information used within the text, 6y

I love when books spark curiosity! I gave my kiddo a copy of this book for his 8th birthday (which is actually next week), and he quickly devoured it. Since then he has read the next two books in the series. He got to go to work with grandpa this week, and this is him telling my dad all about Nikola Tesla, energy and matter, and his plans for a science project. #LittleReader #FutureScientist #ThankYouJonScieszka
