Thank you, @Aimeesue. Your post was very inspiring. I made a list of a few things I learned from novels. I'm sure some of them will help me survive whatever form of apocalyptic event we're facing. Especially since i learned so much more from non-fiction books and growing up in a rural area behind the Iron Curtain.

#TheEndIsNigh - I hope not!

Chrissyreadit Wow! You must have had an interesting childhood. Where are you now? 4y
julesG @Chrissyreadit I grew up in East Germany and now live in what used to be West Germany. Growing up in East Germany in the 1980s was like growing up in the 50/60s in Western Europe. I often say that I've had the pleasure of living in four or even five decades before I turned 20, based on how backward the GDR was and my rural area on top of that. 4y
Lindy @julesG Your childhood is atypical; no wonder you are such a star! I wonder if some of your experiences were similar to Polish writer Marzena Sowa: 4y
julesG @Lindy Probably. I'll try to get my hands on a copy and let you know. 😉 4y
Lindy @julesG Yes, please do let me know. 😊 4y
