What do you like to read when you‘re feeling lonely?

Having a pity party (but with spaghetti!). I‘m failing in every aspect in my life and feeling so lonely. My boss hates me, my family doesn‘t talk to me, and I‘m driving the few people who do talk to me crazy. I‘m just so over everything thing right now and I need anything that will make me feel better, even if just for a little bit.

slategreyskies Damn, that sucks. I suppose for me, when I‘m feeling lonely, I like escapism reads. Nothing that‘s gonna be a challenging read, but something that‘s just pure entertainment. Hope things settle for you soon. I know what it‘s like to be lonely. Hang in there. ❤️ 1y
TheBookHippie I reread old child favorite chapter books. Hang in there! 1y
Deblovestoread I dive into favorite series. It is nice to be among familiar characters and locales. Hope you have better days soon! 1y

quietjenn I too like to revisit favorites or reach for a familiar author or series. Something cozy and comforting. I hope things get better soon. 1y
Bookzombie I like to reconnect with my favorite characters as well. I hope things improve soon. 💗 1y
SamAnne Hang in there. I‘ve felt a little bit like that this past year…..and the holidays can make it worse. 1y
SamAnne And for me it‘s been escapist reads and just good reads. Loved Empire of Wild, most recent,y. And the chapter a day reads with the #pemberlittens. 1y
Sleepswithbooks @Maggie4483 I just sent you a #litsylove letter today. When I have feelings like you‘re describing, I wrap in a blanket with my weighted stuffed sloth. Super soothing. 1y
Maggie4483 @slategreyskies @TheBookHippie @Deblovestoread @quietjenn @Bookzombie @SamAnne @Sleepswithbooks I know it‘s been a few weeks, but I wanted to say thank you to all of you for reaching out. Even though I didn‘t respond, I saw your messages, and they did help. Sometimes it helps just to be heard. Litsy is such a great place and everyone here is so compassionate and empathetic. 💗💗💗 1y
slategreyskies I agree with you about it helping to be heard. Sending some love your way! 💕 1y
Sleepswithbooks @slategreyskies said it perfectly!!! 💚 1y
TheBookHippie @Maggie4483 Being heard is so important ! Sending so much love & light to you! 1y

Mehso-so

This was a bit of weird story. It's really short and part of the 1001 books you must read before you die. That's also the reason that I've read it. Not really my thing though. A quick read.
TBR since July 16th. 2021; 95 pages.
