“Except that Papi texted me to come right away. Something about fixing the universe?“ This quote represents two things. One is what the books about and second the cuban culture.

I personally really like the idea behind this book because I have always liked science fiction. This book also uses some Cuban influences in relation to the family aspect of the book as well as the culture that the characters have.

Sal and Gabi Fix the Universe by Carlos Hernandez. Science Fiction. This book is science fiction because it talks about the wormholes and how they have been opened and how it causes parallel universities to be opened as well. In this book Sal and Gabi try to fix what they have done to the universe.

First was better, but it‘s still really good. And apparently a series? (Based on that ending there‘d better be more) Lots of Cuban/Miamian culture, some nice Spanish thrown in. Sal lives with diabetes and the author handles that well, making it important and no big deal at the same time. It‘s more sci-fi (AIs/multiverse) than most of the RR Presents I‘ve read. And a lot of potty humor (there‘s literally a sentient toilet).

ravenlee Oh yeah, this was my May #Roll100 #54 @PuddleJumper 2y
ImperfectCJ One of my 6th graders recommended this one to me this week. I bet she'd love it if I read it before our next class! 2y
ImperfectCJ Actually, I think it's "...Break the Universe" that she recommended. 2y
PuddleJumper Aww kitty 😻 2y
ravenlee @ImperfectCJ that‘s the first one, and it‘s definitely a series to read in order. They‘re both pretty quick reads. 2y

Ah, middle school humor. Still gets me.

I loved book 1 so much I had to have book 2. Plus how can I pass us a manga that involves a library? 😁

#bookhaul

Graciouswarriorprincess @LibrarianRyan Let me know how the library book is because now I am curious. Happy reading! 4y
LibrarianRyan @Graciouswarriorprincess will do. I‘ve been looking for a good library manga series but all the ones I‘ve tried seem lacking. The one I like the most so far is but even it was just soso 4y
Graciouswarriorprincess @LibrarianRyan I tried that series as well but just didn‘t like it. 4y

LibrarianRyan @Graciouswarriorprincess exactly. It‘s like it only covered half the story. Or it was the set up for something more grand. It‘s a novel not a Manga but is an excellent book about a library. I just need to get the rest of the series read. 4y
Graciouswarriorprincess @LibrarianRyan That is one of the books in my TBR pile. 4y
