Mind MGMT Omnibus | Matt Kindt
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
This globe-spanning tale of espionage explores the adventures of a journalist investigating the mystery of a commercial flight where everyone aboard loses their memories Meru's obsession with Flight 815 leads her to a much bigger story of a top-secret government Mind MGMT program. Her ensuing journey involves weaponized psychics, hypnotic advertising, talking dolphins, and seemingly immortal pursuers, as she hunts down the flight's missing passenger, the man who was Mind MGMT's greatest success--and its most devastating failure. But in a world where people can rewrite reality itself, can she trust anything she sees? Collects the first two volumes of the Mind MGMT series from New York Times bestselling and Eisner-nominated creator Matt Kindt--a story that's optioned for film by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner).

Nine books that would make for much more compelling viewing than Tiger King in the right hands. I'm aware of the two Salem's Lot adaptations & the recent casting of Adrien Brody for the prequel, but I feel like the novel could benefit from a modern adaptation. There's a rumor that James Wan is possibly working on it. Fingers crossed.

Pickpick

This review is for all 6 volumes of Mind MGMT. Matt Kindt's Mind MGMT is tied with Lemire's "Descender" for best graphic novel series I have read this year. True crime author, Meru, investigates the disappearance of passenger Henry Lyme aboard a flight in which all of the passengers & flight crew suffered amnesia. The Wikipedia page gives a brief description of "super spies, espionage, and psychic abilities." Kindt's watercolor art is intricate ?

vivastory & stunning. The characters are flawed & memorable. This is Phillip K. Dick by way of Christopher Nolan at his best. 5y
Aimeesue Gonna Hoopla this one! 5y
vivastory @Aimeesue I look forward to your thoughts. I plan on eventually buying my own copies. I loved the art & I will definitely reread it (I very rarely reread books) 5y
Aimeesue @vivastory Yeah, I'm not a re-reader. Except for Pratchett, Adams or similarly humanist books that make me laugh. Or if décades have passed and I can't remember the plot. ? 5y
