3 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
Isolated from the world in a Vietnamese military encampment, a young girl turns for affection to a sympathetic soldier and to the only other girl in the camp, forming two friendships that will shape the rest of her life. As a young adult in New York, cut off from her native country, she is still in search of a home. She falls in love with a married woman who is the image of her childhood friend, and follows strangers because they remind her of her soldier. When tragedy arises, she must return to Vietnam to confront the memories of her youth - and recover her identity.

July 4th, 2019 Hello everybody!!!! Happy Fourth of July. I have officially finished the book and i honestly had mixed feelings about it. The author was slow in the beginning and then conpletely sped up the pace at the middle of the book. She involved a lot of sensual writing as well as history. I would say that the book was a mix of fiction, nonfiction, and biographical moments. She definitely incorporated many ideas whether fake or imaginary

July 1st, 2019 Hola! Bienvenidos!!! Como estas!!!! If you have not been aware I have been posting (a little more often on Litsy) as much as I can because it is SUMMER. Summer time is when i have the most time to read. Reading to me is such a relaxing hobby. Here is a free synopsis of the book: As a young adult in New York, cut off from her homeland and haunted by scars of her youth, she remains a woman without a country {WOW}

This is possibly the first book I've read and not known anyones name which feels weird. It's also one of the few books where I've disliked every single character, which I have a feeling was the intention.
