Now that's an interesting way to start a story... department of survival final exam, April 2031🤔 intrigued!

SW-T Intrigued.... 5y
ShyBookOwl @SW-T it was a very interesting format and the story was good. But it wasn't my favourite in the collection so far 🤷🏽‍♀️ 5y

It's raining and I think I hear thunder. Wanting to take advantage of the gloomy atmosphere, I pull out my horror book, Dead North. My lunch break is over, but I decide to snuggle up in bed and squeeze in just a few more pages. Then, my cat shows up and ruins it all with his cuteness 🤷🏽‍♀️

imyril Oooh I don‘t know this one but I love SMG‘s work 5y
ShyBookOwl @imyril I'm only on the second story but so far both are uncomfortably eerie... which is what a lot of ppl want out of their horror fiction. 5y

ShyBookOwl @Pricel101 ... and very Canadian. Cold and isolated. 5y
esurient Woah, that cat is a cute roadblock to atmospheric reading. 5y
ShyBookOwl @esurient it might as well be his mission in life 😂 5y

A little horror on my rainy-day lunch break. The day is just gloomy enough for these Canadian zombie-themed horror stories that deal with so much more. In this one, the ethics of whaling. I've only just started it, but this last line makes me wonder where the author is headed.

Bought this after hearing about it on the book podcast Books in the Freezer. Thanks @WhatWouldJaneDo for telling me about it!

Bklover Hi there! A belated Welcome to Litsy! 5y
ShyBookOwl @Bklover Why thank you 🤗 5y
WhatWouldJaneDo I don't think I've listened to that one yet. This book looks cool, I love the cover! Can't wait to hear what you think of it. I finally read A Head Full of Ghosts since they keep mentioning it on the show and it was great 5y
ShyBookOwl @WhatWouldJaneDo oooh! Good to know! 5y
