Traditional. Great take on the classic. The illustrations are what really make this retelling far different from any of the other retelling that you have seen over and over. The illustrations are extremely detailed and you feel like you are taken back in time to the old time of the story.

Jan Brett's retelling and illustration of this classic tale is outstanding. I adore how German culture is represented in these drawings. At first, I thought the text would be too wordy for Julian (3y/o) but he was hooked the whole time. The dramatic expressions of the bears kept his interest... It was a joy to share a classic with him this evening!

tpixie I love her drawings. ESP the side panes! 3y

Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Jan Brett (traditional lit, published 1981) was different than the original version of the story, but still told the classic tale. It was more german culture showing, which I really liked. The illustrations show this a lot- and it‘s such a good story

"Goldilocks and the Three Bears", written and illustrated by Jan Brett, is a classic traditional literature (TL) tale that will never go out of style. This story could be used in a multitude of ways in a classroom environment, including a dramatic reenactment (DR). This stunningly illustrated book shares the story of a young girl named Goldilocks who stumbles into a home belonging to three bears. Of course, there have been hundreds of retellings

caldwellalex95 of " Goldilocks and the Three Bears", but the details in Brett's drawings are one-of-a-kind and truly breathtaking. Students will knock themselves out re-enacting this classic fable! The "Teachers Pay Teachers" website offers a plethora of options for teachers to choose how they want to execute a dramatic reenactment of the story. I have linked an option below for teachers to use that include story hats and props! ESOL strategy #21 and UDL's 5y
caldwellalex95 recruiting interest strategy (7.1) could be included in this dramatic reenactment lesson plan. If you are like me and you adore traditional literature, be sure to take some time and read Jan Brett's version of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Not only is the story a vintage staple, but Brett's illustrations are alluring and deserve all of the praise and attention it receives! #LAE3414SP19 5y

This story doesn't represent cultural norms because the three bears live in a house, eating porridge, and sleeping in beds. Those are human characteristics, but the symbolism in the story is clear. The bears represent a classic family with roles of Father, Mother, and Son.

Traditional literature 2014. The book is just like the story was always been. The three bears have their breakfast made, but it's too hot and so they leave for it to cool down. While they are gone goldilocks comes eats, sleeps, and sits in the chair of the little bear after trying the momma and papa's stuff first. She wakes up to them looking down at her and she runs for the hill. The theme is dont take what's not yours.

This is a classic story about Goldilocks and the three bears. It was published in 1987 by Dover Publications. The book itself is a wonderful representation of the tale that has been passed down. It is about three bears that are different sizes and live in a home together. Goldilocks discovers the house and goes through everything to experience the different sizes of the furniture. However, the bears come home and scare her away.
