At the age of 13 Miyax is unhappily married and faced to live with hard decisions, mostly involve life or death contemplations. She runs away from her life struggles but is left all on her own. She doesnt have food, shelter, or any sense of home. This journey is eye opening and treacherous, but a great lesson to understanding how lucky we may be.

This story is about a pet dog named Spunky who is frustrated he can‘t communicate with his family. The family assumes he wants a friend so they get a cat! This is not what he wanted at all, but through this experience he learns the new benefits and accomplishments he has when spending time with her. This is an encouraging book for children because it gives a new perspective to something you may not originally like.

This story is realistic in the sense that it involves hardships. Sol lost her father and is trying to live her life with her sister without him anymore. This book is a story of adventure and hope. The topic may be controversial in the way the issues she faces aren't extremely common in the everyday child, but also a good lesson for children to understand the way other people's lives may be.

I really enjoy the contrast in the cover page. There are many blue fish which I believe represents the majority of people. Then there is a red fish in the middle which I think represents Willow with her unique situation.
