Books and Reading are two different hobbies
https://bookriot.com/books-vs-reading/

I am guilty of spending more time curating my tbr and searching for exciting new releases than actually, you know, reading. Once I acquire a new book, either purchased or borrowed from the library, my interest kinda wanes. Anyone else relate?? #bookriot #readerproblems

RaeLovesToRead Yes!!!! I love reading and I love the planning, curating and purchasing, but they are (in a way) separate hobbies 😄 Also, I'm sure I spend more time looking at cats on Litsy than actually getting reading done 🤣🤣🤣 2y
Tamra Hahaha totally! 2y
Simona Absolutely! 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2y

Jess I‘m right there with you! 2y
readordierachel Yep 🤭😂 2y
JamieArc Totally relate. Sometimes I worry I love books more than actually reading (my dream job is a book historian). I also really love book planning. 2y
EvieBee Definitely! The research and planning is wonderful! 2y
DrexEdit I find that Litsy definitely encourages my books tendencies more than my reading ones. 😂 But the social aspects are worth the trade-off! 👍 2y
SRWCF Same, but I'm getting better! 2y
Nute Yes! I enjoy the practice of list making and the art of browsing far more than I should.🥴 2y

Open to any and all suggestions. For example: a love story about a person + a war story about the same person, a book about a criminal, another one about the police chief who caught him, Belfast in the 60s and Belfast in the 90s. You get the picture 🤗 Go!

TheKidUpstairs If you like classical mythology: Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller/ Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker/ A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes. All look at the events of The Iliad (and some from The Odyssey)/ The Trojan War, from various perspectives (SofA is focused on Achilles/Patroclus, SoftheG is about Briseis who was Achilles' slave, ATS is about all the women Greek/Trojan/Goddesses/Muses) 3y

Tove_Reads @TheKidUpstairs Cool, thanks! I‘m in charge of a new book club, and I‘d like us to read very varied books. They liked the idea. So, figured for the summer break I‘ll make us read two books about the same subject. We‘re doing this for women‘s bank, so they pay to participate, and the money goes to support entrepreneur women in several poor countries. I‘m actually doing good by picking books, reading, and talking about books! 3y
TheKidUpstairs No problem! I love the idea, and I'll be interested to see what other recommendations you get. 3y
Tove_Reads @TheKidUpstairs I know there are lots, but suddenly my mind is blank 🤷🏽‍♂️ 3y
TheKidUpstairs Mine too! I JUST finished A Thousand Ships, that's why these three were so fresh in my head, but I can't think of others. 3y
Susanita An autobiography and a biography of the same person. West with the Night and 3y
arubabookwoman I love Mr. Bridge and Mrs. Bridge, both by Evan Connell, two books telling the story of a long marriage from the pov of the husband (Mr,) and from the pov of the wife (Mrs). (edited) 3y
TheKidUpstairs @arubabookwoman ooh, that sounds really interesting! 3y
