Death in the Spotlight: A Murder Most Unladylike Mystery | Robin Stevens
5 posts | 5 read | 4 to read
Someone will take their final bow . . . Fresh from their adventure in Hong Kong, Hazel Wong and Daisy Wells are off to the Rue Theatre in London to face an entirely new challenge: acting. But danger has a nasty habit of catching up with the Detective Society, and it soon becomes clear that there is trouble afoot at the Rue. Jealousy, threats and horrible pranks quickly spiral out of control - and then a body is found. Now Hazel and Daisy must take centre stage and solve the crime . . . before the murderer strikes again.

Another great book by Robin Stevens. This mystery was set at the Rue Theatre in London. They face a new challenge: acting. Behind the lights and glittering facade, there is something sinister that must be investigated.
This book seemed more grown up and diverse including BAME and LGBT characters of all ages.
A brilliant YA voice and a must read for fans of mysteries. Only two left in the series to read 🥲

Onto book 7 now and Hazel and Daisy are on stage in a play in London. There friends Alexander and George help out with this mystery. And as usual there is a dead body and they can't wait to start investigating. Another good read from Murder Most Unladylike series! #books

Two book series I really enjoy! The 7th book in the Murder Most Unladylike series and the latest from the historical crime fiction of Inspectors Frey and McGray set in Edinburgh in the 1889. #tbr

The 7th in Robin Stevens‘s MURDER MOST UNLADYLIKE SERIES for children aged 9+ is another well-plotted mystery filled with some devilish twists and great character development for Daisy and Hazel. I especially liked a key revelation about Daisy and her sexuality (which Stevens does well to contextualise in the time) but Hazel also gains a lot of confidence and self-awareness and I welcomed seeing Alexander and George again.
