Running Against the Tide
Running Against the Tide: True Tales from the Stud of the Sea | Captain Lee
3 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
From the star of Bravos hit reality show Below Deck, comes Running Against the Tide, the Stud of the Seas first-ever memoir recounting his journey from landlocked Saginaw, Michigan to the high seas, where he has spent more than twenty-five years as a superyacht captain. The cast members of Below Deck are known for their catfights, scheming, personal attacks, and long-held grudges, but what keeps viewers coming back week after week is resident hero Captain Lee, the only cast member to appear in all five seasons. But you dont have to be one of Below Decks 1.5 million weekly viewers to appreciate Captain Lees story, which offers a glimpse behind-the-scenes at the luxury yachting industry and one of Bravos biggest franchises. From having to reclaim his drunk captain's lost papers in the Dominican Republic to unwittingly crewing a drug boat out of Turks and Caicos to navigating the outrageous demands of the super-rich in New York City, Captain Lee's tales from the high seas run the gamut, proving time and time again why hes a fan favorite: hes occasionally profane, hes often surprising, but hes never dull and, for the first time, hes here to tell all.

Fun, easy read. If you watch Below Deck you will like this book. Some parts are extremely slow but it is a fun and easy read, especially if you are a Captain Lee fan.

Part of my epic Book Outlet haul came in today. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Most of it‘s for me, but G is on a poetry kick, so I found some books for her too.

Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee is full of gorgeous pictures but man is it huge and unwieldy! And obviously @Megabooks knows I cannot wait to read all about Captain Lee!!

Megabooks Captain Lee sweet! 3y

I am a big Below Deck, so this was quite the treat to find at the library

It was a pretty enjoyable book, and it wasn‘t about below deck at all, which is actually a good thing.

I learned a lot of interesting things about yachts. Not to mention, Captain Lee comes off the same in the book as the guy we see on tv.
