pickI love this series so much. It‘s not afraid to really delve into the world of morally grey. So much of the story relies on choices Alex has made in the past as well as in the present. I like that we got more insight into Anne and her past as well.

My goal this week is to continue on with the Alex Verus series while breaking it up with other series books I need to finish. I'm going with the Custard Protocol book four to start with and then will continue with The Expanse if I finish these.
That Chosen ending had me completely rearranging my reading schedule so I‘m starting this next installment tonight instead of breaking it up with a non Alex Verus book in between. My sleep cycle is praying I don‘t end up reading this in one sitting when I‘m starting so late in the day lol.

pickI devoured 2/3 of this book today and enjoyed the hell out of it! I can‘t remember the last time I just had to stay awake until 1:30am reading because I couldn‘t put the book down but this made me do it. The story was an interesting mix of solving a kidnapping and learning important character backstory things with sprinkles of magic and tough decisions. I love how easy to read this series is and the fact that there‘s virtually no romance in it.💚

This is the 5th book in the Alex Verus series. I have been looking forward to finally catching up on these as the characters (a mage who can see the future, a cursed woman, and a giant spider) are some of the more interesting characters I have come across. #AlexVerus
