Nestled in the valley of the ski resort town of Star City, Utah, is a side street full of shops that specialise in the simple charms of earlier eras. Among these is the Rescued Word, where Chester Henry and his adult granddaughter Clare lovingly repair old typewriters and restore old books. But when a stranger to town demands the antique typewriter they're already repairing for another customer, Clare fears she may need to be rescued. And when the man later shows up dead in a back alley, she wonders: What about a dusty old typewriter could possibly be worth killing for?

Got 4 books for $10 at an outlet mall! Found a new (for me) series by Paige Shelton and one of the few Asimov books I dont have.

A decent cozy mystery. Enjoyed the setting of a typewriter repair shop and a secret code etched on the key bars. I can see reading more of this series.

Enjoyed each of the three books pictured above and am happy to check them off my TBR list 🙂

The first in the Dangerous Type Mystery series. Very likable characters, a great setting, and fewer of the interactions that seem included just to annoy the cozy mystery reader. I would read/listen to the next one.

The reader also has a very pleasant voice.

Despite the typos and copy editing error (thanks for nothing PRH), this was a fun cozy with a solid mystery. The secondary characters were kind of flat but it was definitely worth a read.

You know you are an adult when, without an alarm, you wake up on the weekend at the time you normally wake up for work. Picked this cozy (and maybe the next one in the series) to read today while I wait for the coffee to brew.

drokka The third one was released on 5 December. You know, in case you want to add another font to your holiday season 🙂 6y
SilversReviews Looks good. Love the typewriter. Clever title too. I taught typing so I love everything to do with typewriters. (edited) 6y
melissanorr @drokka I know but the library didn't have it yet so I could only get the first two when I stopped to browse. 6y
melissanorr @SilversReviews I have enjoyed other books by this author. She writes another cozy series that is also bookish. 6y

Speaking of fonts, this #cozy is a nice little read and the first in a series. Looks like the second one just came out this month.

First in the Dangerous Type Mystery series, set in Utah and starring Clare Henry. Loved the idea of a typewriter and stationery store that also prints and restores books. Fun cozy mystery with a cat, Baskerville. Already placed a hold on book two at the library.
