VeganCleopatra Baseball...I've tried so many times to love it but 🤷♀️ Maybe I'm desperate enough for sports now to watch. Lol I'm personally looking forward to hockey but fearful for the players. Are any of the players wearing masks on field? 4y

sprainedbrain @VeganCleopatra Ha! ‘Desperate enough‘ 😃 Hockey is the only other sport I like to watch, so I‘m looking forward to that as well. Most of the players and managers are wearing masks in the dugout, but not on the field during the game so much. Of course, excepting for batting and running bases they aren‘t usually within 6 feet of each other. It‘s so weird to see no fans and have recorded crowd noise, but I was happier for the return than I expected! 4y

sprainedbrain @VeganCleopatra it does help it feel a little less weird. I wonder if it helps the players, too? The Blues play the Avalanche on Sunday, and I‘m exited to see how that works too. 4y
rjsthumbelina @sprainedbrain they also mentioned during the telecast last night that the recorded crowd noise is partially bc otherwise the batters would be able to hear the catcher's cleats behind them and might be able to tell where the catcher is setting up! I thought that was interesting 4y
MsMelissa My husband and I watched some of the Blue Jays game last night. It is really odd to watch games with no fans in the stands, but it‘s nice to have a bit or normalcy back. I‘m most looking forward to hockey being back, though! I seriously can‘t wait. 4y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Mets fan here, but the Cardinals (and Giants) have been my 2 back up teams for about 10 years. They both have solid rosters & I always enjoyed their games against the Mets. I'm glad it's back. I'll take hockey too. @VeganCleopatra They've made a few adjustments to speed up the games so this might be a good time to watch a few games. I've seen a few players wearing masks and a clip of Cubbie's Anthony Rizzo sharing hand sanitizer at 1st base. 4y
sprainedbrain @VeganCleopatra Yep, I‘m a Blues fan. 😃 We live in Iowa about 4 hours from St. Louis and (in normal years) make a few trips south every year for baseball and hockey. I really like the Predators and the Maple Leafs, too. 4y

sprainedbrain @Book_Fiend_Melissa The Blue Jays have one of my favorite former Cardinals of recent years (Grichuk). I think it‘s nice to have the normalcy back, too. We watch nearly every Cardinals and Blues game each year, so to have it to watch again from home feels good. I will miss going to games, but there are SO MANY people at them that I completely understand it‘s impossible right now. I‘d be too scared to go anyway. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I do miss pitcher Johan Santana! A few years ago we had a bunch of cuties on the team. Not sure who "my guy" is going to be this year. With the matchups being regional at least I'll get to watch teams I didn't always get to see. 4y
sprainedbrain @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I liked Santana, too. I think the Mets have Wacha now... I always liked him a lot. But you still have deGrom. 😍😂 The regional schedule is weird, but I will take. No Mets/Cardinals this year, though. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I was glad when we picked up Wacha and my BF didn't know who he was. I don't know how we can play against teams and he picks up nothing about the other team unless it's a longtimer like Yadier Molina. deGrom is great but not my type. I'll be missing your Goldschmidt this year. 4y

MsMelissa So I‘m thinking with half of the Marlins now with COVID, and it wouldn‘t surprise me if some of the Phillies come down with it since they played the Marlins this weekend, that the baseball season might not last a week 🙄 4y
