"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain. Only Em can complete the final instruction. She's tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present-imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside. Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America's most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James's life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina's hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was. All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

4⭐This was a re-listen. I originally listened to this back in 2014 and it was one of the first audiobooks I‘ve ever listened to. I loved it back then…did it hold up? The answer is; mostly. I‘m not into YA nearly as much as I used to be and that‘s probably the biggest reason why it doesn‘t still get five stars from me. Overall the character's actions annoyed me a tad, especially the MC but the story itself still held up.

Easy and predictable read. I still enjoyed it immensely. Love dystopian or end of the world stories. This one had time travel which was a bonus.

My #augustphotchallenge pick for an #underhypedbook is this great YA novel from a few years ago. Loved it and it's very under appreciated - a rare stand-alone read in the #YAfantasy genre. #underappreciatedgem #allouryesterdays

TeR I loved this book! 8y
Zelma Good to know. It's been on my TBR for while but I keep moving it down. I will move it back up. 8y

CaitlinSiem I really enjoyed this book, too! 8y
Readingismyescape This has been on my physical tbr shelf for a long time. I should move it up - especially if it's a stand alone - hard to find these days. 8y
annahenke @Zelma @Readingismyescape It was a very quick read for me! I think I finished in one day. 8y
Sue Thanks!! I love me some YA:) 8y
gibblr Oooh, yay! I've had this one forever and still haven't gotten to it. Your review may have convinced me to move it up he TBR list! 8y
Lattelyric It is a rare standalone. I read that there was going to be a sequel, but the author decided against it. That is very rare! 8y
annahenke @Lattelyric I heard that, too, but I'm glad that the idea was abandoned. It is a complete story and any additions would probably have gone down in quality like the inevitable splitting of a ya trilogy's fourth movie adaptation. 😊 8y

Time travel is a very hard concept to write about without it getting confusing, but Terrill masters it. The story is full of twists and surprises which conclude with a huge bang! I enjoyed it very much
