pickYou Are My Sunshine is a children‘s picture book that was adapted by Steve Metzger and illustrated by Jill Dubin. I classified this book as Poetry (P) due to the fact that rhymes are used throughout the book. This book is one of my favorites! My mom used to sing this book to me all the time as a kid! Every child would place one handprint on the canvas, in a circle, to create a sun. This would be cute to keep up all year to remind the kids that they are your sunshine! (edited) 6y
LisaMart @AmeliaS21 Is this book the entire “you are my sunshine” song? If so, I am sold! I sing this to my 7 year old sister all the time, since birth! She knew how to sing that song before she could even write her name! I would have to get it just for her! 6y

DrSpalding I, too, have sung this song to my own children and my mom sang it to me. We have this in common. Beautiful choice especially for preschool to primary age children. 6y
