Fabulous novel in verse. One of last year‘s Great Stone Face nominees that I missed. Love all the references to Kate DiCamillo‘s Tale of Despereaux.

This was fantastic. ❤️ A quick read because it‘s written in verse.

Book bought for a Middle school. I absolutely loved this story. 2018

This middle grade book spoke to me, as an adult, very powerfully. It was multi themed, but the one that jumped at me from the beginning was the wonderful relationship formed between the 11-year-old girl, Macy, and her elderly neighbor, Iris, – the rainbow goddess of the title. The whole book truly reiterates my strongest belief that story and memories and family (however that might be defined) are the most important things of all. #verse
