Not book related but I'm having to spend the evening doing this and not reading a book :(
My assignment is to write an essay on love at first sight. It's quite a fun essay to write. What/who was your love at first sight Littens?

Elizabeth2 I‘m not sure romantic love at first sight is possible. I think romantic relationships evolve to love. But my babies. That was love at first sight. For me personally, it was love at the sight of the positive pregnancy test. From that point on, I would have done anything to protect them and keep them safe. 5y

julesG @Elizabeth2 I wholeheartedly agree to this. I took both pregnancy tests and knew I already loved the cluster of cells that was growing to become my child. 5y

Growing up in southern Ohio and then returning to teach in this area, I could relate to this book. Anyone else know about Appalachia Ohio?
This is a great read for adults and kids that shows an insight into life in small town Ohio and overcoming difficulties.

Lynnsoprano We spent 3 years in grad school at Ohio State, and spent a little time in southern Ohio in a variety of agricultural settings, as hubby did his PhD in plant pathology. More familiar with the coal mining regions of Pennsylvania, which is an incredibly depressed area now. 5y

R.L.Walker @Lynnsoprano did your husband ever do any work in the hocking hills or clear creek metro park? Ohio State is a great ag school. Southern Ohio def has some fairly depressed areas that are coming back, but many have the mindset of the dad in this book. It was great watching the main character overcome those challenges. 5y
