so-so

The start (mostly about the hero) was very good - intriguing and interesting. But then I wonder about the purpose of the background story of the heroine - was it really necessary? How different would the storyline have been if she was not who she was portrayed to be? (Not any different in my opinion - she could have been anyone from anywhere.) Around 65% in, I just lost interest and skimmed through the rest.
