Weep No More My Lady
Weep No More My Lady | Mary Higgins Clark
1 post | 16 read | 2 to read
Elizabeth Lange has arrived at Cypress Point Spa in Pebble Beach, California, weary of heart and soul. Still grieving for her beloved sister, a famous actress who plunged to her death from her Manhattan penthouse, Elizabeth is determined to unearth the truth about how Leila died. Dashing multimillionaire Ted Winters stands accused of her murder, but Elizabeth has doubts. Along the windswept cliffs of the Monterey coast, in luxurious bungalows, between gourmet meals and beachfront walks, uneasiness stalks Elizabeth while she begins opening doors to the past. As glimpses of the dark truth about Leila's life and death -- and about Elizabeth herself -- start to crash against her mind, an ominous wave from an unexpected source threatens to engulf her entirely.

(Wow, that's a big sad face!) I just cancelled my Powell's Bookstore subscription plan. I'm a little sad about it. I really liked supporting Powell's, but I wasn't as excited as I used to be when I received the box in the mail. Additionally, I decided if I was going to buy books I wanted to support my many local indie bookstores. I hope Powell's will forgive me.

saresmoore I hate that feeling! But I am sure you made a good choice. Shop local! 7y
Megabooks Sounds like a good choice for you. 7y
Hooked_on_books Powell's with both forgive you and be there for you when you visit. Have fun at those locals! 7y

LeahBergen I think book subscriptions would be a bit tricky for me, too. I'm sure I would enjoy a couple of months and then ... meh. 7y
Suet624 @saresmoore Thanks for your support! 😁 7y
Suet624 @Booksandcooks I think it is - I find innumerable ways to feel guilt though. 7y
Suet624 @Hooked_on_books Thank you so much for saying that. It may me feel a bit better. 😁 7y
Suet624 @LeahBergen In the old days Powell's included really fun food and merch that keep me hooked. But yeah, I realized I like the bookstore shopping experience. ❤️ (edited) 7y
kspenmoll I get Powell's subscription but find I cannot keep up with the reading so may stop myself. ❤️ unfortunately although there is a used bookstore 30 minutes away from my home, any local small bookstores are 45 min to an hour away. Even UConn has lost its COOP to Barnes & Noble this past year. 7y
Suet624 @kspenmoll That's so frustrating about UConn. Fortunately for me I have many local indie bookstores and I want to keep it that way. 😀 7y
