The agents of Supernatural Protection & Investigations (SPI) protect people from predatory supernaturals. This time, were the ones who need protection. New York is one of the most popular convention destinations in the worldfor humans and supernaturals. Every hundred years, rulers of the worlds supernatural races come together to negotiate and renew a peace treaty. Meeting in the same hotel are the governors of our worlds goblin and elf colonies. SPI is saddled with the security nightmare of keeping the living delegates alive and the undead delegates from becoming permanently deceased. Weve got our work cut out for us. Im Makenna Fraser, seer for SPI. Our security nightmare becomes real when monsters from the delegates mythologies begin mysteriously appearing in the flesh to hunt delegates from every side of the debate. And when the hotel gets sucked into another dimension, theres no escape. We discover that were all pieces in an elaborate and deadly game. A game about to spill out into the real world. Failing to escape is game over and not an option. We have to save the worldbut first, we have to save ourselves.

Nevermind the fact that the library put the barcode over the title, The Myth Manifestation continues the SPI Files series with another fun supernatural tale. A kind of book "bottle episode", the SPI team is tasked with keeping an intergalactic peace treaty gathering safe, not easy given their usual clientele; but of course things go spectacularly awry. Book 5 sees friends old and new banding together to keep the world safe for one more day.

KarmonR I am behind on this series! Ugh! Moving to the top of the stack. 6y

Good book, but I Hate that the author is randomly deciding to connect her fantasy series and her urban fantasy series. That would be cool if the author had hinted at this AT ALL during the last like 8 books, but she didn‘t and it feels really contrived. Other wise, a fun book, a new twist on the locked in a room mystery.

TricksyTails Castle!! 😘🐶♥️ 6y

Why sleep ...? I like this series although (I say having both started & finished this book tonight) it‘s a little slow insofar as the action keeps getting in the way of the character development, which is a weird sentence, I admit! All in all, another solid offering from Shearin. I haven‘t started her other series which is a fraternal twin to this one but probably will at some point. Solid urban fantasy with great action and truly inventive plots.
