Geeklet @Avanders There‘s definitely a few weird creatures, especially the Shrike. They‘re not the biggest part of the story but they play a very important role in motivating the characters towards their goal. 5y

Squidapus is very good at convincing me to spend money when I shouldn't. So here's four books I totally didn't need to buy! To be fair, it didn't take much pushing too grab Asteroid Made of Dragons. I mean, come on, that title!

Okay so I got about 1/3 through this book before I realized it was part of a series. Oops? I kept reading regardless and it was VERY entertaining in spite of some of the references to prior events eluding me. The author has an excellent sense of humor and dialogue. The descriptions of magic were so evocative, I stopped periodically to say some passages aloud just to enjoy the sound of them. Worth looking into!

so-so

Such a charming plea at the end of this one, so here goes. An engaging fantasy/genre read crackling with snarky wit, but there were some missed opportunities for deeper character & plot development that could have elevated it. Several great characters, though, so pick this one up (maybe after reading the first 2 installments of which I was totally unaware) if this sounds like your sort of book. (And what a treat to be called gentle & attractive!)

A little hazy on the details of how, when and why I downloaded this one, but that eyeball is literally staring at me from my device, so I guess I'll read it. Pretty sure this will be about as different from my recent reads as a book can get....
