Ok so random, but I've always wondered if this is more widespread than I realize or if it's normal to be embarrassed (bc I am 😂). I almost always read hardbacks with the dust jacket on. Why? Because after a while my fingers leave oily marks on the bare cover and it drives me batty! (The dust jacket on this one is so slippery that I had to take it off on the subway). Please tell me this a normal problem (and that you'll still be my friend 😭😂)

GrilledCheeseSamurai It happens to me too! One time I borrowed a book to a friend and he took a picture of my fingerprints on the hardback and sent it to our group chat. 😐 6y
MarriedtoMrT All my hardbacks tend to be from libraries. Covers are shiny but wipeable! But this would totally be something that I worried about. Is there such a thing as reading gloves? 6y
Cconnolly I always take them off while reading, because I feel like they‘re “art” and don‘t want to mess them up! I think the prints or scars on the hardback show that‘s it been well loved... 😊 6y
