How do you make an unlikeable character more sympathetic? Make their opponent the more odious of the two. Of course, in this case, the demon comes out looking more sympathetic than Saloninus. A twisty little thought exercise. This is the second in a series, I'm not compelled to pick up the first or third.

TobeyTheScavengerMonk Okay, I could be misremembering, but I think I read somewhere that this is a sequel to something. Like a prior short story Parker had written or something. Does it stand on its own? 7y
