Reminiscent of Chloe Caldwell or Lidia Yuknavitch but written in a pseudo epistolary format full of lower case words & few punctuation marks, Wilder constructed a collection of stream of conscious observations & feelings that follow the years after her mother's death. Several sentences hit me at my core while others were much like those in group chats between best friends. Wilder is my age exactly and every pop reference was all too relatable.

This was not one for me. There is substantial content addressing mental health/well-being, loss, coping with (loved one‘s) addiction, but the style felt disjointed and erratic. While intentional, this didn‘t appeal to me...

I think I could find more with each re-reading...and perhaps come to appreciate/enjoy it more in time, but I don‘t feel the desire to read it again. My loss, I suppose, but I won‘t lose any sleep over it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
