Michaelsbecoming closewith thefamily marks the beginning of a long healing process. But Michael's period of recovery comes to an abrupt end whena terrible accident brings the burden of a shattering secret intohis life. How will Michael bear the agonizing weight of guiltas he navigates persistent doubts on the path to attempted redemption? Normally, I‘m happy to blow past spoiler warnings to tell you the full story – but the twist in this one is so powerful, so brutal, and so laboriously built up, that I‘ve decided to hold back. Unfortunately, that makes my review a short one, as there‘s not a lot more I can say about I Saw A Man without revealing too much. Here it is, anyway: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/i-saw-a-man-owen-sheers/

This title is a gripping read and very well written. However the story becomes a little preposterous and unlikely. Ultimately it was a dissatisfying story but a joy to read in the descriptions of people and emotions.

TrishB Felt the same. Initially good but then became really silly. 5y

Beautifully written but hard to categorise. Sold as a crime novel but definitely not that! Draws you in but painfully slowly - it takes the lead character over a hundred pages to get to the top of the stairs. And why are we suddenly in Arizona? Owen Sheers has amazing talent - read this for the love of the English language - but this book needs focus and patience to get the best from it.

Hard to review a thriller without giving anything away! Although I had some problems with the ending, this is a compulsive read, and extremely well written. With themes of grief, guilt and loss this isn‘t a light read, but the main characters aren‘t demanding you like them, so I was able to stay as an dispassionate observer of their worlds. Not my most favourite book, but worth reading. #wellwrittenthriller #willsoonbeamovieimsure

We‘ve got a great new little Indie bookshop in the neighbourhood. Just signed up for their Bookclub. The book seems to have mixed reviews, but looking forward to reading something different and then meeting some new folk! #bookishchat #bookclubs #newfriends

Love the feeling of starting a new book 📚 -Couldn't get into this at all. Had to give up (and I hate doing this) but really wasn't following. Might put it into the back of my Collection and go back to it again.

Too much description and not enough story line for my liking an OK read. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The description in this book goes a little too far sometimes. Stating the obvious to fill a page.

actualdisneyprincess That is exactly the kind of thing that drives me up a wall. ? Like, please, don't treat me like I'm stupid. ("Banana Cream Pie Murder" was FULL of moments like that, so I especially feel you rn!!!) 7y
