In the sequel to the thrilling Dark Run, which Publishers Weekly called “a terrific debut,” Ichabod Drift and his crew sign on for a new smuggling job that soon goes south when they are separated and caught up in a dangerous civil war. When Ichabod Drift and the Keiko crew sign on for a new smuggling job to a mining planet, they don’t realize what they are up against. The miners, badly treated for years by the corporation, are staging a rebellion. Argh these books are so good. This time the crew of the Keiko gets stuck on a mining planet in the middle of a revolution, half stuck with the defending police force and the other swept up by the revolutionaries. Just like Dark Run Squidapus finished this in two days. The only downside is that Jia and Kudai still barely get any development or chapters from their perspective which was weird since the planet was part of their affiliated nation

It must be fate; Squidapus went to the book store 200 pages into Dark Run and saw the sequel in the used book section at Harvard. So I guess we'll be reading that next! The Ingenious and The Luminous Dead look pretty great too!

TobeyTheScavengerMonk The Ingenious will probably happen for me at some point. It sounds amazing. Just read a positive and intriguing review of The Luminous Dead today on Tor.com. 5y
Squidapus @TobeyTheScavengerMonk Yessss, when we saw it in the store the back didn't sound amazing but then we looked up reviews and damn. I've literally never seen anything on GoodReads get above a 3.7 and this is at a 4.1 with a bunch of reviews. 5y

To a great extent this feels like Firefly fanfic. That is not a criticism. I'm intrigued by the new crew member and really should get to reading Dark Deeds soon.

The continued adventures of the Keiko. Captain Ichabod Drift and crew whilst on a seemingly easy, though not necessarily legal, pick-up end up finding themselves grounded and unwilling participants in a planetary revolution -- and not all on the same side. As each group battles their way back to their ship they encounter old enemies and find new alliances and revelations along the way.

Book 3's out in November 2017.
