REHill Have you seen the documentary about this on Netflix? I know we are not talking books but National Lampoon was SO influential. I have read nearly everything that I can find about comedy during that time. Very, very interesting. 6y

REHill @TiredLibrarian I have NOT! BUT I have read I‘m Dying Up Here, Comedy at the Edge, The Comedians: Drunks, Thieves, Scoundrels, and the History of American Comedy... & too many more to name. I write comedy & like to pretend I am funny when doing stand up. Sometimes I get it right but reading about how all of the best have also walked a fine line of success just like the rest of us is inspiring. Nothing comes easy. :) Stories!! 6y
