#acrossapril April 2: children‘s

This is my shelf of children‘s books. A couple of these books were my mom‘s when she was a child. I found a couple of these at estate sales. A few of them were mine as a child. And some are new(ish) just because I love the stories. 💜

Eggs Lovely! And lots of Pooh 💗 4y
rockpools How lovely! And I never knew A Little Princess was published as Sara Crewe 💗 4y
Chrissyreadit I have the same copies of When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six. My first poetry books and I loved them. (My other favorite was Edgar Allen Poe. For some reason I loved having my grandma read The Raven and Annabel Lee to me). 4y

@wanderinglynn this is probably my favorite book in my library--I found it at an antique store around 7 years ago. I never had a thing for antique books until this one!

mabell The title wasn't originally The Little Princess? 6y
Itchyfeetreader @Mabell I think it was originally a short story / serialisation and then extended into the novel a little while later 6y
wanderinglynn @mabell - @Itchyfeetreader is correct. It was a short story serialized in a magazine, and then expanded into a novel. 😀 6y
