The Weaver Fish
The Weaver Fish | Robert Edeson
2 posts | 2 read
A captivating zoological, mathematical, technological, grammatical, architectural, aeronautical literary thriller - unlike anything youve read before. When Edvard Tssentern, the missing author of studies of the mysterious flesh-eating weaver fish, staggers in from a remote swamp, his colleagues at the research station on the island of Ferendes are overjoyed. But Edvards discovery about a rare giant bird throws them all into the path of a dangerous international crime ring. Part-thriller, part-literary and mathematical puzzle, this unique, bold and playful debut engages the reader in an exhilarating game, challenging everything we know - or think we know - about language, morality and truth.

Mehso-so

3.5/5 ⭐️ this is hands down one of the oddest books I've ever read. It would help to have a better grasp of scientific, linguistic & mathematical theory in order to read this than I have, but with a mind that happily believes in things that don't exist and very odd characters it was a fun read. It did take me a while to get into it though.

Two of my #7in7readathon down, 5 to go! Back to The Little Prince now amidst packing to move!

Pondering what to read for the 7 in 7 readathon which I discovered via @readsusieread you 7 things in as many days & you can choose to read anything... Novels, comics, magazines, poetry... Susie does finishing a book you've already started count?

Is anyone else joining in?

Sace Hmmm. It is tempting but I know I would fail and fail big. I love the cat in this image BTW. 7y
charissharpe @RestlessFickleBookSlut I think I might fail too (😂) i think I'm going with a magazine (my latest copy of Landscape arrived last week & I haven't looked at it yet), a newspaper (never read them, Twitter tells me everything...) & I just need to decide on 5 others! 7y

Sace @conversationswithcharis ok. Now I'm waffling because I can maybe manage a comic or two. And I've got a 3 hour audiobook (and I listen at chipmunk sipped.) Maybe I could manage this... 7y
charissharpe @readsusieread yay! That means I've now got 4 or 5 reads on my list, just a couple more & im sorted... 7y
charissharpe @RestlessFickleBookSlut yay, we can do this! 🙌 7y
