pickI loved this book! The writng is beautiful, touching & poignant. A fictional story based on some true events; listening to some of the scenes made the present fade and I felt as though I could see and hear what the people at that time did. It was at times painful to listen to, other times it was magical, but it was all so deliciously good! This is a story that you'll not soon forget, it will stay with you ☺️

The writing describing Jessica‘s slow progress of recovery, how lost and broken she feels even after her body heals from wounds is well done. The mystery delves into the plight of the Huguenots, protestants in France. Also a powerful message about what human beings do in the name of religion which should not be mistaken for the will of God.

pickLoved this book where the past help heal the effects of current evil. Loved how the author made me feel the hurt and fear of the main character. Definitely read it.

pickOK, this gave me goosebumps. I didn't read the blurb about it so had no idea what it was about...just loved the title. Turned out it was (what I call) a "God thing" that led me to it. ?Something put in your way at a specific time and place in your life by God because He knows you needed it. I laughed, I cried, I was horrified but ultimately I was indelibly touched by this story. Highly recommend. Out September 5. Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC.
Wow. I'm at 40% in this book, and I'm mentally/emotionally wrung out. I did not read the summary before I began this ARC...so yeah, was not really prepared. But I'm beginning to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
