Devil's Cut
Devil's Cut: A Bourbon Kings Novel | J. R. Ward
22 posts | 27 read | 14 to read
In #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward's thrilling finale of the Bourbon Kings series, the Bradford family dynasty teeters on the edge of collapse after the murder of their patriarch--and a shocking arrest. At first, the death of William Baldwine, the head of the Bradford family, was ruled a suicide. But then his eldest son and sworn enemy, Edward, came forward and confessed to what was, in fact, a murder. Now in police custody, Edward mourns not the disintegration of his family or his loss of freedom . . . but the woman he left behind. His love, Sutton Smythe, is the only person he has ever truly cared about, but as she is the CEO of the Bradford Bourbon Company's biggest competitor, any relationship between them is impossible. And then there's the reality of the jail time that Edward is facing. Lane Baldwine was supposed to remain in his role of playboy, forever in his big brother Edward's shadow. Instead he has become the new head of the family and the company. Convinced that Edward is covering for someone else, Lane and his true love, Lizzie King, go on the trail of a killer--only to discover a secret that is as devastating as it is game-changing. As Lane rushes to discover the truth, and Sutton finds herself irresistibly drawn to Edward in spite of his circumstances, the lives of everyone at Easterly will never be the same again. For some, this is good; for others, it could be a tragedy beyond imagining. Only one thing's for certain: Love survives all things. Even murder. Praise for J. R. Ward's Bourbon Kings series "A most sinful indulgence . . . The gorgeous Kentucky backdrop will sweep you away."--Susan Wiggs "Breathless fun!"--Lisa Gardner

Part of the joys of going through a blind bargain box of books is trying new genres and authors. So I'm glad I tried this one, but this soap opera style storytelling with all the repetitions, bloated descriptions and family drama is not my cup of tea.

This story was a great ending to a trilogy about a family from Kentucky. Very wealthy and variety of personalities helped the plot flow.

I re-discovered three books last month.....during a real time reading of A Discovery of Witches. (I‘ve now read that series twice this year). I did finish A New Jim Crow and Devil‘s Cut by J.R. Ward. Reviews for both coming this weekend! #octoberwrapup #reading

What an ending to such a deliciously scandalous series. I loved the setting, I loved the characters, and I loved the story. Devil's Cut made me sigh with happiness and grin at the drama. I can't get enough of it. Ward proves she's not just a supernatural romance author. ❤️❤️

CoverToCoverGirl I concur! She nailed it! 😎 7y
StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl I need more! That's my only complaint!! 7y

For the longest time I have put off this series because it is so different from her other books I have read. I'm finding myself actually really enjoying these. So much delicious family drama & dysfunction 😎😜

What a roller coaster ride of a trilogy! The amount of secrets and scandals in this family! I honestly wasn't sure how J.R. Ward was gonna wrap up all the storylines in one book but she did it and I enjoyed every sexy scandalous page of it😏

This series is a soapy delight! I am a bit sad that it is only a trilogy, though. If you grew up with Dallas and Dynasty, this is a love letter to that kind of storytelling. Fun!

Perfect ending to this series. There was a lot of cheesiness but after 3 books this is exactly how it needed. It list a smile on my face.

#TBRtemptation post 4! Just released. The third installment in The Bourbon King series. Mmmm, boouurbon 😋. The death of William Baldwine shocked everyone, but not as much as his son, Edward, claiming responsibility. Lane thinks Edward's covering for someone, and the more he digs, the more he is stunned. With true lover Lizzie by his side, they sleuth it out no matter how devastating the consequences. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

MrsMetcalfeReads So I liked the first book in this series and I made it through the second book but I'm not sure if I actually want to read this book. I kind of want someone else to read it and sum it up for me 😂😂 7y
