A perfect follow up to volume one, filling in a lot of the history of Wonder Woman and her crew. Love it.

My fav of the three! Issues 1 and 3 are a conspiracy story (mixed feelings) while 2 delves into Wonder Woman's backstory. The illustrations in 1 and 2 are glorious. In 3, they alternated to various other artists which makes the visual tone vary widely. It's not bad, per-say, just obvious when the art style changes back and forth. For new readers, start with 2. Then read 1 and 3 which have lots of characters from WW's past. #dw2020reads

I love the complexity that is Wonder Woman and this collected edition really showcases that especially when collected in order the way this volume, like the last, was presented.

Still a solid 4 ⭐read!

Note: This collected volume collects Wonder Woman (2016) Vol.3 and Vol.4

I've read Wonder Woman's origin story more times than I can count, but Greg Rucka made me feel like I was reading it for the first time. Excellent comic with gorgeous artwork and great writing.

I‘m loving the rebirth series for Wonder Woman. The art style in this series is so beautiful too. Like icing on a cake!

#FeministFriday Going with Wonder Woman. This is my first photo on a new iPhone 5, after the old battery replacement caused a problem somehow with putting my iP5 back together. Starting anew will sure be another year again with a full library of Litsy photos. #ReadingResolutions @Jess7 🌟

I've heard Wonder Woman's origin story so many times I could barf. After realizing the second trade in her Rebirth series would be a break in the arc from the first volume, I was like "ew can we please not with her origin for the thousandth time"

But when Greg Rucka writes her origin, it's like hearing it for the first time all over again. His writing and Nicola Scott's almost regal artwork make WW's origin an absolute treat to hear again.

daena Agreed! 6y

I have a mini comic version of Wonder Woman ❤️🏹 loving this beautiful story, and looking forward to reading the complete graphic novel, TBR at the library. This is currently up for Litsy's 2017 book awards. >> https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1u59FBynfcUMWWDZeL9XRFTwx1pa9mW8LV5MK...

With a look at the Litsy Awards, a listed 2017 book that I do own (as a mini comic volume with this cover) is Wonder Woman for graphic novels. 😸 I definitely need to get on the comics I picked up over the summer. -- I haven't quite voted, with many TBRs I appreciate seeing to watch for. -- Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe1u59FBynfcUMWWDZeL9XRFTwx1pa9mW8LV5MK...

I wish I'd read this second volume of WONDER WOMAN REBIRTH interspersed with volume one, the way they were published in single issue form. This volume flashes back to Diana's origin story, and it adds a ton to the contemporary arc (which I wasn't wild about, but think I'd've appreciated more with this alongside it). I liked it a lot and will definitely be requesting volume three.

I picked this up after seeing the movie and wanting more. I wasn't really sure what to expect going in, but wow this was good! It was a totally different story but still maintained some of the basics of the Wonder Woman story. I haven't read Vol 1 yet, but I feel I will have to pick that up next.

While much of the story seems like a new dose of the same cough medicine, there are new parts to love and hate. It brings the timeline forward to a world of guns, explosives, and suicide bombers. But it leaves behind the invisible plane and instead gives WW the ability to fly. I don‘t care for this aspect of her powers, but overall I like the direction of the new storyline so far. We shall see if this keeps up for Vol 3.

Unlike most of the reviewers, I haven't read a lot of Wonder Woman storylines, so I didn't spend much time comparing it to others. There's some really good material here, but it definitely feels like the beginning of something larger. The complete storyline that is contained within the book leaves more questions than answers. But I love the art and how involved the gods were with Wonder Woman's abilities and intentions. #netgalley #LitsyAtoZ

I'm really enjoying this one!

TobeyTheScavengerMonk I guess she had to learn somehow, but jeez. 7y
readinginthedark @TobeyTheScavengerMonk I know! Steve's character was freaking out the whole time. At least it was her final test! I guess it makes sense that they'd need to make sure their champion could parry bullets... 7y

Amazons remembering the world they left behind.... I'm liking this more honest look at our worlds issues, even woman's issues, in this version.

NovelGirl82 I'm looking forward to finally digging in to vol 1, & seeing how her new origin story plays out. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 1 was interesting, I liked how they combined a bunch of different stuff together, and then carried the new forward in vol 2. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 Can't wait to see what you think when you get to them. (edited) 7y

NovelGirl82 Is it just in the new 52 that they changed her origin story, or did they in this one, as well? I got the new 52 to see how it played out, but I may decide to go this route with her story, since I already know that you think it's good. I don't know anyone who has read the new 52 ww yet. I only got the first vol to try it out. 7y
queerbookreader @NovelGirl82 I've read the first four or five volumes of her new 52 series 🙋🏻 haven't gotten to volume 1 of her rebirth series yet tho 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 I wish I could tell you a set answer there...I'm so new to comics so I can't really compare....and I'm definitely not the one who should decide which is better since I haven't read the other (honestly I didn't even know there was another). Sounds more like I should instead check out the new 52 series based on both of your suggestion. Both you and @lemonlime799 are much more knowledgeable about comic than I am..... 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa ...and this group starts with her shifting through her diverse memories basically trying to decide which is the true memory and which are lies....so they haven't firmly answered what her 'real' origin is yet. 7y
NovelGirl82 @lemonlime799 Awesome! I've heard that it's really interesting, with the changed origin. I was intrigued. I've liked all of the other new 52 series that I've read, so I'm hoping this one lives up to those. 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 @lemonlime799 It looks like Hoopla has the new 52 series too, so maybe I'll check them out as well. Thanks for the heads up 👍 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @NovelGirl82 Halfway through the beginning of the new 52 vers Vol 1 , yep there's some change there and I love it too.....I'll write up a review when I finish. Guess I'll need to read both for awhile. But the new 52 starts further along with WW already knowing her powers & learning her real origin. This series here, starts with a more confused Diana trying to figure out the truth, and then goes back to the beginning and Trevor's plane crash... 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa ... and a more innocent Diana first off the island and innocent to our world. 7y

What can I say, I've been a Wonder Woman fan since I was a small girl and I'm enjoying revisiting this superhero story.
