Although a bit of a slog at times, Hearts in Suspension is a truly captivating collection of pieces recounting the experiences of several students at U of M during one of our nation's most turbulent periods. King's twin pieces are, of course, the standouts, but other memorable pieces by Harold Crosby, David Bright, Diane McPherson, Philip Thompson, Larry Moscowitz, and Jim Bishop manage to hold their own. 4/5

He's already written about himself & the time period in his fiction. Now he writes about it in non-fiction form. In addition to his recollections, 12 of his peers provide further insights. Saw this at the library today. Managed to ignore it but it wasn't easy. (I was there for knit group I swear.) Just counted all the unread books on my shelves yesterday. I have at least 75 waiting. That is CRAZY!! Gotta get serious about this no buying more books thing. And I need to read faster. I hope someone gets to enjoy this one soon for me. #stephenking #bookhoarder
