A fun fantasy #romantsy with a unique take on a the vampire mythology. It has a strong heroine, Arabella, who is the leader of a revolution to overthrow the evil vampire rulers and has a “meet cute” with the hero when she tries to kill him. Marius is a naive prince who has to wake up to reality and does in fact wear his shirt like a normal person (contrary to what the cover leads you to think)

Now, this was a Cinderella retelling but it was quite unique in it‘s telling. I liked all the nods to the original tale but also that the nods were not what one would expect. One of my favorites was what was used in place of the glass slipper, that was just perfect for this dark fantasy, well played Ms. Cross, well played.
