Seeing Evil | M C Domovitch

Ciara Kelly returns in M.C. Domovitch's latest must-read thriller. Four years ago, top model Ciara Kelly escaped from the Cutter, but the scars he carved into her flesh ended both her modeling career and her love life. Another tiny scar, this one on her brain, has left her with an unusual ability, one she views more as a curse than a blessing. Now living in New York, Ciara finds herself drawn to a case eerily reminiscent of her own. When detective Nanos asks for her help in trying to identify a killer who kidnaps and murders teenage girls, Ciara finds herself in the sights of another dangerous killer.

On this day last year I read a super fast-paced thriller, which I loved. But I kept wishing the author would've delved deeper into the main character's background. When I checked my NetGalley approvals the next day, I found another book by this author. Turns out I'd read the sequel first, so I had to go back and read the first book, already knowing where things were going to go. #TBTReads

(Book 1 in the series-Scar Tissue, should be read 1st) Not a perfect mystery/thriller but a decent one. Overall plot is good, taking up with Ciara's life 4 years later & her again involved with the police (OK really one cop who believes in her 'gift') to help with a case of missing & murdered teenage girls. Some things were a bit obvious or maybe too coincident-y, but there were a few good twists that kept me guessing & I'll read the next one.

Late start to my morning (I went back to bed)😴but errands are run & when the Leonard's Malasadas truck is in the shopping center parking lot you *need* to get a couple of warm malasadas for breakfast to enjoy w/a current e-book to read. If you haven't had the pleasure- it's a Portuguese deep-fried dough ball, dredged in sugar. Like a really good 🍩 There are filled ones but I'm a purist (unless it's lilikoi-filled).😋🍴#Saturday #litsypartyofone

It's definitely (at least) a two-avocado toast with spicy garlic aioli week.😬😋Playing work and Litsy catch-up from the past couple of days & starting my morning at the coffeeshop. A couple of chapters of this e-book thriller, second in a series, before getting to work.

britt_brooke I really need to make this toast sometime. Sounds so good! 7y
Smangela If I see avocado toast in my Litsy feed I just assume it's you 😂😂 7y

🌟🌟🌟There are some good aspects to this read. It has some unique qualities. However, there are many places this book needed a good editor. I do not say that because of spelling or grammar. There are some mistakes in the story easily found. There are places where a few changes in wording would have gone a long way. The author has talent, just needs some tweaking.
