This book, about a woman named Bega in Dark Ages Ireland and Britain, was overlong and flawed but I really enjoyed it. All of the details were the kind I‘m interested in, and the religious histrionics were the sort of thing I can‘t get enough of.

Gotta read some Venerable Bede now.
