Noble Intentions
Noble Intentions | Katie MacAlister
3 posts | 8 read
The award-winning, laugh-out-loud Regency romance that launched the career of New York Times bestselling author Katie MacAlister. Take one infamous earl... Noble Britton, Lord Weston, has come to London intending to revisit old friends, enjoy a modicum of society, and-oh, yes-find a mild, biddable wife. Add an irrepressible American Gillian Leigh's Unfortunate Habit of speaking her mind and Shocking Susceptibility to Accidents have left her on the shelf at five-and-twenty. So why can't Noble resist her? And good intentions are bound to fail When Gillian meets the infamous Black Earl, she knows that at last she's found a man who can match her zest for life, even if that entails the occasional arson...or kidnapping. Not to mention the encounters with his former mistresses... Although life with Gillian involves as much chaos as laughter, Noble fully intends to claim her for his own-if she doesn't accidentally kill him first. "Delightful and charming! A wonderful romp through Regency England." -Lynsay Sands, bestselling author of The Switch "Sexy, sassy fun!" -Karen Hawkins, New York Times bestselling author of How to Pursue a Princess

This one had all kinds of things happening: an old murder to solve, blackmail, kidnapping, a ghost, and so much more. It was cute and funny and I really enjoyed it.

Been doing a lot of brainstorming / intention setting the last few days. Here are my thoughts about my reading life, which I'm sure will be a great jumping off point for blog planning for the year.

Here are the intentions/goals from all of this:
1. Read down my TBR - focusing early on ARC backlog (maybe Mount TBR Challenge; January 24-in-48)
2. Find a few new mystery series to get into!
3. Keep working on my #TrumpedUpReadingList

#ReadJanuary

Well-ReadNeck @PatienceFortitude YAY! some of my favorite series: Daniel Silva; Steve Berry; the Cormoran Strike series; SJ Rozen's Chin/Smith series; the Tracy Crosswhite series. Not a big fan of Flavia or Mazie Dobbs. (edited) 7y
PatienceFortitude @Well-ReadNeck Have you read Lee Childs? And Dad suggested Harlan Coben. 7y
minkyb Try Ian Rankin (Inspector Rebus) Jo Nesbo (Harry Hole) John Sanford (Lucas Davenport) Thomas Perry (Jayne Whitfield) Jussi-Adler Olsen (Department Q) Marcia Muller (Sharon McCone) Laurie King (Mary Russell). I'll stop now. 7y
Well-ReadNeck @PatienceFortitude @minkyb Thanks for the suggestions! Some I've tried and some are new, so adding to list. Going to try a few from a list of recommended Scandinavian authors I found online during the cold months!! ❄️ 7y

Posemn I was drawn in by your brainstorming chart @Well-ReadNeck and saw your #TrumpedUpReadingList (don't have any idea how I missed it earlier). Thank you for this! After the election (well, quite honestly, after I dragged myself out of my DEEP Election funk) I decided to commit to more slow reads for the news. (Wash Post, Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy so far) to get a better view of what will be our next 4 😱years. Will use your # as well! 7y
