Pickpick

Who Was Abraham Lincoln? is a B book written by Janet Pascal and illustrated by John O'Brien and would be a good book for IR. The book goes into detail about the life of Abraham Lincoln including useful illustrations and a timeline at the end.
I would assign this book to a student for a presidential research report. #ucflae3414f17

JuliaMurra I would assign this book to a student for a presidential research report. I would use this resource for it: https://d2ct263enury6r.cloudfront.net/xWqgOQLaZCd1GbaF5ZRZsjdb0hzmsqDuumS5uWveKf...

This is a very detailed and thorough lesson plan for a 5th grade presidential research project! This book would be a great resource for the student who is assigned Abraham Lincoln.

JuliaMurra This aligns with UDL 9.1 promote expectations and beliefs that optimize motivation because the lesson plan clearly expresses that the project and deadlines are at the full responsibility of the student. It also aligns with EL 42 have students use timelines to arrange and sequence important facts and information because that's apart of the project. 6y
DominiqueL I think that illustrated biographies like this are really good at engaging students. 6y
EricaG This is a great series of books! I agree with Dominique that these are good at engaging students. 6y
DrSpalding During the month of January and February around Presidents' Day you could have Who Was ...literature circles where students are reading different biographies about different presidents of historical significance. Excellent series. 6y
